Biography statement:
Michael Bergen has served as director of the Brooklyn College Speech Language Hearing Center since 2003, and has taught courses within the Department of Communication Arts, Sciences, and Disorders since 1994. An ASHA-certified, New York State-licensed audiologist by profession, Bergen oversees clinical education within the center. He works collaboratively with a professional staff of speech-language pathologists and audiologists who supervise students engaged in clinical practice, teach undergraduate, graduate and doctoral courses, and produce groundbreaking research. Dr. Bergen is past president of the New York State Speech Language Hearing Association (NYSSLHA) and has served on a variety of professional committees at the local, state and national levels. He is a member of ASHA, AAA, NYSSLHA, NYCSHLA, CAPCSD and GNYCACECSD, and is a founding faculty member of the Doctor of Audiology Program of the CUNY Graduate Center.

Dr. Bergen serves as director of the Brooklyn College DRD Speech Language Hearing Center, overseeing clinical practice and supervision by a staff of speech-language pathologists and audiologists of students engaged in clinical practice.
