Honors and Special Programs
Brooklyn College offers a range of special programs for every kind of student. Academically talented students thrive in our Honors Academy, which brings together in one location eight distinctive, separately directed honors programs. The Honors Academy serves exceptionally well-qualified, eager, imaginative students who are flexible in their interests and open to new discoveries and experiences. Its purpose is to stimulate students to develop their potential and to assume responsibility for educating themselves and, by learning collaboratively, one another. Honors students receive individual academic and graduate advising, career counseling, priority registration, assistance with scholarship opportunities, and access to all Academy facilities which boast a commons, study room, and networked computer stations.
In addition to the Honors Academy, Brooklyn College offers many special programs and opportunities. Students may choose to study abroad—anywhere from Argentina to China to Israel. Other students participate in internship programs with a great variety of companies and organizations or join CASE, an organization that brings together a number of science, science research, and science-related programs at Brooklyn College. The goal of CASE is to increase the number of underrepresented, economically disadvantaged and first-generation students who seek advanced degrees in science toward careers in business, computer studies, industry, law, medicine, scientific research, and teaching.
Need guidance or extra help? The SEEK program serves admitted students who need help in the form of academic counseling, tutoring, or extra classes. The Learning Center provides online peer tutoring in writing, core courses, science, and many other subjects to Brooklyn College students. Explore our support services.
