Recreation, Intramurals, and Intercollegiate Athletics

A good education, health, and interaction with others are vital to personal well-being and a fulfilling life.

To help Brooklyn College students achieve these aims, the Division of Recreation, Intramurals, and Intercollegiate Athletics organizes, administers, and promotes a diversified program of activities and services - from individual workouts to a broad array of team sports.

For more information visit www.brooklyncollegeathletics.com, the official Web site of the Division of Recreation, Intramurals, and Intercollegiate Athletics.

Intercollegiate Athletics
Brooklyn College competes in Division III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The college fields ten teams - five each for women and for men. All students, whatever their level of athletic experience, have the opportunity to be part of a team.

To compete on a team, students must be in good academic standing. Brooklyn College’s student athletes are motivated to do well in their studies and to achieve their educational goals.

In addition, team interaction among students of diverse backgrounds fosters understanding of both cultural differences and commonalities, leading to personal growth.

Intramurals
Intramural events include team sports, individual and dual sports, and one-day special events. These activities complement the academic curriculum by meeting needs for relaxation, physical fitness, achievement, and belonging. The word for participation is Fun!

Recreation
The recreation program at Brooklyn College provides a wide range of noncompetitive experiences to individuals. Members of the college community may use the excellent facilities to work out for relaxation and physical fitness during their leisure time.
