Direct Admissions

Brooklyn College is accepting both freshmen and transfer students for the Fall 2010 semester through the direct admissions process until Wednesday, July 21. New undergraduate applicants who are interested in attending Brooklyn College in Fall 2010 are encouraged to apply at this time. Students who started but did not complete their application are also encouraged to apply at this time.
To be considered, please bring all supporting documentation listed below to the Office of Admissions, West Quad Center, 2900 Bedford Ave., Brooklyn, N.Y.
During this period we can accept applications only from students who were educated in the United States.
If you have not yet filed your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and plan on receiving financial aid, please fill out your FAFSA right away.
Freshman Applicants
Please bring the following documentation in order for your application to be processed:
- Official high school transcript
- Official SAT scores
- Immunization records
An application fee will be required upon acceptance.
A minimum college admissions average (CAA) of 81 and a minimum combined SAT score of 1,000 in Critical Reading and Math is required. In addition to meeting the entrance requirements, students must prove they are exempt from the CUNY Assessment Tests. See the table below to determine if you are exempt.
Transfer Applicants
Please bring the following documentation in order for your application to be processed:
- Official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended. We will access CUNY college transcripts.
- Immunization records. We will access records from other CUNY colleges.
An application fee will be required upon acceptance unless you were in attendance at a CUNY college for the Spring 2010 semester.
In addition, some students may be required to submit one of the following documents in order to satisfy the CUNY Assessment Test requirement:
- Official high school transcript
- Official SAT scores
Transfer students will be admitted to the College based on the following criteria:
- Students with fewer then 25 credits completed at the time of application must fulfill our freshman requirements and submit their high school documentation as part of the application process. In addition, the student’s completed college work must have an overall GPA of 2.50.
- Students with 25 or more credits completed at the time of application must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.30.
- Students who have received an associate degree from a CUNY community college will be admitted with a minimum GPA of 2.00.
- Students who have received a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution will be admitted with a minimum GPA of 2.00.
