Women’s Basketball Wins First Round in ECAC Metro Tourney, Advances to Semifinals

The Brooklyn College women’s basketball team took the first game of the East Coast Athletic Conference Metro Tournament by beating the Richard Stockton College Ospreys, 69-68, qualifying them to go up against top-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology in the semifinal game of the tourney.
The fourth-seeded Bulldogs will face Stevens Tech at their campus in Hoboken, New Jersey, on Saturday at 5 p.m. Stevens Tech is easily accessible by car or public transportation.
In Wednesday evening’s home game in the West Quad Center, the Bulldogs’ Frances Lyons scored the go-ahead basket with 28 seconds left in the game. Lyons was one of three Bulldogs to score in the double figures.
The winner of Saturday’s matchup will then go on to play the winner of the other semifinal game between sixth-seeded NYU and seventh-seeded Drew University in Sunday’s ECAC Metro Final.
