Awards, Honors and Fellowships
CUNY Chancellor's Recognition Award for Major Institutional Grants. Awarded by Chancellor Goldstein, May, 2007. (Awards and Honors) 2007

CUNY Faculty Development Grant - PI. Dr. Scott Dexter (Co-PI), CIS, Brooklyn College. We will develop 3-4 curriculum modules for an undergraduate linear algebra course which will be designed with three purposes: (1) to allow students to explore some mathematical ideas behind several computer science applications, such as watermarking and image processing; (2) to draw on well-established theories of how people learn math, using these theories with the students so that the students may also reflect on their learning as it occurs; (3) to provide a framework within which faculty may reflect on themselves as learners and teachers. $10,000 (Grants and Fellowships) 2007

Awarded membership in PKAL-Project Kaleidoscope Faculty for the 21st Century. PKAL is a national alliance working to build strong learning environments for undergraduate students in mathematics, engineering, and the various fields of science.

(Awards and Honors) 2006

National Science Foundation - MetroMath - The Center for Mathematics in America's Cities.
Co - Principal Investigator for this $2 million grant at The Graduate School and University Center of CUNY. 2004 - 2009. (Grants and Fellowships) 2004

National Science Foundation - The Linear Algebra Project.
Principal Investigator for this $75,000 grant funded by the CCLI-EMD Proof-of-concept program. The goal of this grant was to develop course materials for an innovative linear algebra course in conjunction with a "learning of linear algebra" course. 2004 - 2006. (Grants and Fellowships) 2004
