SUMMARY:AI Literacy in Business Education—“From Classrooms to Careers”
DESCRIPTION:The AI Literacy in Business Education—“From Classrooms to Careers” initiative has two specific phases\, fall 2025 and spring 2026\, but will also be implemented in summer 2026 and can be expanded into other schools across campus. In fall 2025\, approximately 700 IBM artificial intelligence–related certificates were completed by Koppelman School of Business students\, and in spring 2026\, more than 1\,000 additional certificates are being completed. \nStudents complete IBM SkillsBuild courses and certificates\, including AI Literacy\, Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals\, Make Agentic AI Work for You\, Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner\, Getting Started With Artificial Intelligence\, and Getting Started With Generative AI. Each certificate carries a verifiable digital badge that students can showcase on LinkedIn and résumés to signal their AI skills to employers. \nEmail Myles Bassell with questions.

SUMMARY:IBM AI Experiential Learning Lab
DESCRIPTION:Myles Bassell is guiding more than 400 Koppelman School of Business students who are participating this year in IBM’s AI Experiential Learning Lab\, a hands-on 10-week program that gives students the opportunity to design real-world AI solutions using IBM’s enterprise technologies. Working in multidisciplinary teams\, students address authentic business challenges with support from IBM experts and industry mentors as they move from idea to prototype. \nStudents develop skills in generative and agentic AI\, responsible AI design\, and IBM watsonx while creating portfolio-ready work that can make them career ready. By the end of this career-connected learning lab\, students will have completed AI projects they can showcase to employers and will earn IBM-recognized digital credentials for LinkedIn and résumés. This initiative reflects Koppelman’s commitment to experiential learning\, industry engagement\, and preparing students to lead in an AI-enabled economy. \nEmail Myles Bassell with questions.

SUMMARY:Map the System Competition: University of Oxford
DESCRIPTION:Professors Myles Bassell will present a comprehensive overview of the Map the System Competition to the more than 125 students participating in the competition. \nMap the System is a learning program and global competition hosted by the University of Oxford\, Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at Saïd Business School. It offers participants the opportunity to apply systems thinking principles and visual tools\, dive deep into a social or environmental topic\, and explore the societal impact. Students complete six in-depth learning modules\, prepare a 20-page written report\, and illustrate the components and dynamics of the issue. Students conduct research regarding the challenge landscape (symptoms\, root causes\, and perpetuating factors)\, and solutions landscape (existing solution efforts). Evaluation criteria include Challenge Understanding\, Systems Thinking Skills\, Solution Awareness\, Leverage Points\, and Insights and Reflections. \nEmail Professor Bassell with questions at mbassell@brooklyn.cuny.edu.
