Next Steps

Once you’ve accepted your offer, follow these steps to stay on track for your first semester.

PAY YOUR DEPOSIT

  1. Log in to CUNYfirst.
  2. Select the Student Center tile.
  3. Select the Financial Account tile or the “Make a Payment” link under Financial Account.
  4. A new window will open (ensure your pop-up blocker is off), click View and Pay Accounts, then click the Make a Payment button.
  5. Select Your School & Amount: You’ll see a list of your CUNY schools; check the box and enter the amount you owe for each institution.
  6. Choose Payment Method.
  7. Double-check all payment details, including the amount and recipient school(s), before finalizing.
  8. Submit & Save: After confirmation, you’ll get a receipt and a confirmation email.

REVIEW YOUR TRANSFER CREDITS EVALUATION

  1. Review the transfer credit policies.
  2. Transfer Credit Evaluation: Once you have officially accepted your offer of admission, the Transfer Evaluation Office will automatically begin reviewing and transferring your courses to Brooklyn College equivalencies. No action is required from you.
  3. Guidance: If you have questions about your transfer credits, schedule an appointment through the Navigate app to discuss them with a transfer expert. Or e-mail us at

MEET WITH AN ADVISOR

Please refer to your advisement email from the Office of Admissions for instructions on how to schedule your advisement appointment.

SECURE YOUR FINANCES

  1. File for FAFSA and TAP applications.
  2. If you need help filing FAFSA or TAP, schedule an appointment with Student Financial Services in the Navigate app.
  3. Check out available scholarships.

LEARN HOW TO FILE YOUR FAFSA

SUBMIT IMMUNIZATION RECORDS

Before you can register for classes, you must submit your immunization records digitally or in person to the Health Immunizations Office.

REGISTER FOR CLASSES

  1. Clear Holds: Check your CUNYfirst account for any service indicators (holds) on your record, like immunization or financial issues, and resolve them before registering.
  2. Advisement: Meet with your academic adviser (or a transfer adviser) to review your DegreeWorks audit and plan your required courses.
  3. Plan in Schedule Builder: Before your appointment, use the Schedule Builder in CUNYfirst to find and plan your desired classes, but don’t enroll yet.
  4. Register: Log into CUNYfirst and launch Schedule Builder at your assigned appointment time.
  5. Confirm your selections to enroll in the courses.

ATTEND ORIENTATION

Transfer orientation occurs in August. Check your email for an invitation.

GET YOUR STUDENT ID

Check in with the Enrollment Services Center for information about obtaining physical or digital identification cards.

FAQ

How do I know if my transfer credits have been evaluated?
You’ll receive an email notification when your evaluation is complete. You can also check your CUNYfirst account under “Transfer Credit Report.”

Do I need to attend orientation?
We strongly encourage all new transfer students to attend the orientation. It helps you learn about campus resources and register for classes.

When will I get my Brooklyn College email address?
After you pay your deposit and activate your WebCentral account, your BC email will be created within 24–48 hours.

What if I miss the deposit deadline?
Contact the Office of Admissions immediately.
