1959

Jesse Kahn is retired from the practice of diagnostic radiology and now lives with his wife in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. Along with their two daughters and four grandchildren, they are grateful to have been blessed with good health.

Belle Harbor & Neponsit Living featured Robert Sarnoff in a cover story. Sarnoff’s latest project, The Block, is a documentary about the impact of Hurricane Sandy on the Rockaways. The film screened at the Manhattan Film Festival and the Rockaway Film Festival, and is available on Amazon Prime.

1960

After 45 years, Bradley Strahan has turned over publication of his critically acclaimed world journal of poetry and art, Visions International, to the poet Cal Nordt. The first printing of Strahan’s seventh book of poetry, A Parting Glass, is almost sold out, with a second printing on its way.

1966

Speaking Circles International founder Lee Glickstein published Be Seen Now! Inspiring Insights into Being a Fearless Speaker.

1967

Kenneth Wang Professor of Law at St. John’s University School of Law Rosemary Salomone was awarded the 2023 Pavese Award for Non-fiction by the Cesare Pavese Foundation (Italy) for her most recent book, The Rise of English: Global Politics and the Power of Language (Oxford University Press).

Ken Lefkowitz’s most recent book, Medicare For All, An Economic Rationale (Routledge), is being used as a foundational document in the campaign to implement Medicare for All in New Jersey.

1969

Author of several books, Merle Molofsky serves on the advisory council and faculty of Harlem Family Institute, as faculty of the Training Institute of National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis, and on editorial boards for The Psychoanalytic Review and Journal for Controversial Discussions.

Together with Renzo Bianchi, Irvin Schonfeld  has published Breaking Point: Job Stress, Occupational Depression, and the Myth of Burnout (John Wiley). Schonfeld is a professor emeritus at City College and the CUNY Graduate Center.

1972

Mark Hunacek, professor emeritus at Iowa State University, recently had his second mathematics textbook, Quantitative Literacy Through Games and Gambling, published. His first book, Introduction to Number Theory, was published several years ago.

Arnold Saltzman was selected as a finalist of The American Prize in two categories: Composers of Major Choral Works and Composers of Opera.

1976

Michelle Herman’s newest collection of essays, If You Say So, has been published by Galileo Press. She writes a weekly advice column for Slate and publishes her short fiction and nonfiction widely. She is Academy Professor Emerita of English (Creative Writing) at The Ohio State University.

1977

Israel-based political scientist and former journalist Elliot Jager published a new book, Jewish Civilization and Its Discontents: A Post-October 7 Primer & Polemic.

1982

Joshua Sky recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of his company, The Sky’s The Limit Consulting, which offers training, facilitation, and coaching services to corporate, government, and nonprofit entities across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

1991

Adam Berlin won the Tartt First Fiction Award for his story/flash collection All Around They’re Taking Down the Lights. The collection was published by Livingston this summer.

Kim Renay Anderson‘s work as a storyteller was featured in New York Weekly.

1997

M. Trinh published Moonlighting, Madness, and Mindset: A Double-Dipping Journey in the C-Suite. The author’s debut novel tells the story of one working mother and immigrant families. Released close to the 50th anniversary of the fall of Saigon when the author’s parents came to America, the book’s publication marks a special milestone both personally and historically.

2006

Okema T. Moore’s film Chocolate with Sprinkles, was nominated for an 2025 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Live Action Short Film. Down in the Valley, a docuseries Moore developed and produced for STARZ,  was nominated for a 2025 GLAAD Award. Moore’s new short, Laundry, won the Black & Unlimited Fatherhood Project competition in 2025.

Alexandria Jackson is the director of alumni engagement at The New School.

2016

Carlo D’Angelo is a licensed real estate agent, helping buyers and sellers in Brooklyn and Staten Island achieve the American dream of buying a house.

2018

Former Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow Joe Baez earned her doctorate in American studies from George Washington University.

Ashton Hiatt is a proud member of the International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE) Local 600.

2019

Since receiving a master’s in childhood education, Nathalie Rae Mercado-Pilaza has taught sixth-grade mathematics at I.S. 98—The Bay Academy in Brooklyn.

Christopher North is a Brooklyn-based composer, songwriter, conductor, and multi-instrumentalist. Following Carnegie Hall performances, North made his conducting debut with the Association of Classical Musicians and Artists Orchestra. In Weill Recital Hall, he led the 24-piece ensemble in a program that featured Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto and the world premiere of “Fantasia (on the) Verge Of,” dedicated to Dr. Lorna Breen. In his third collaboration with filmmaker Sam Pollard, North provided the score for Max Roach: The Drum Also Waltzes, which premiered on PBS.

2020

Melissa Aguirre is a bilingual physical education teacher on Long Island, where she also coaches girls soccer and softball. Aguirre obtained her 200-hour yoga teacher certification and is also a certified functional strength coach and an official NIKE NYC trainer.

Samiha Hoque founded an independent publishing house, Shaherazad Shelves, focusing on Muslim and Muslim-friendly fiction, which was named an Innovative Voice by the Independent Book Publishers of America (IBPA) in 2024 and will soon be distributed to bookstores and gift shops by Independent Publishers Group (IPG).

Steven Rivera became a D75 social-emotional coach and published his first book, 5-Minute Zen Journal.
