At Brooklyn College, we recognize the essential role that public health plays in our communities. The COVID-19 pandemic taught us just how interconnected health is with every aspect of society. We continue to see ongoing disparities in access to healthcare, nutrition, mental health services, and safe environments. Health is not just a medical issue—it is social and political. Health disparities disproportionately affect communities of color, low-income populations, and people in rural areas, revealing structural gaps that must be addressed. I am proud to share with you the spring issue of our alumni magazine, which showcases efforts—both on campus and throughout our alumni networks—to address these challenges head-on. You will hear about transformative work happening to address the perinatal mental health crisis, our faculty spearheading analysis about reproductive justice, and alumni supporting financial wellness. These stories align with Brooklyn College’s enduring mission to educate leaders who think critically and creatively to make a positive impact in the world. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to Brooklyn College. As always, I am proud to be part of such a vibrant, dynamic community. Be well and stay safe, Michelle J. Anderson
