Countless Opportunities
CREATING NEW PILLARS OF ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
At the heart of the Brooklyn College experience are the academic programs that engage our students, inspire them to dream bigger, and prepare them for rewarding careers in a changing marketplace. To continue to keep a Brooklyn College education innovative and relevant, we must build on our existing academic strengths to establish cross-disciplinary pillars of excellence. These enhanced programs will help us tackle the needs of our region, spark new partnerships and collaborations across campus and throughout the city, and give our students the competitive edge they’ll need to thrive.

Key Initiatives
Fueling new innovation and entrepreneurship
To help propel the next generation of bold thinkers to even greater heights, we will create an ecosystem that inspires inventive thinking and an entrepreneurial spirit. With the Koppelman School of Business as the catalyst, we’ll develop new approaches to classroom education, workshops, conferences, mentorships, and networking.
Renewing our focus on the environment and sustainability
Expert Brooklyn College faculty members are dedicating their research efforts to urban sustainability, climate change and resilience, and environmental justice. These initiatives are enabling students to effect real change in the world around them. By continuing to invest in top faculty, we will create more of these opportunities while partnering with other research institutions to develop sustainable solutions for the benefit of all.
Fostering creativity, the arts, and the humanities
We have a rich history of innovation in visual media, the performing arts, and the humanities. Along with prominent faculty and students, our alumni have made a profound impact as musicians, writers, filmmakers, politicians, sociologists, historians, and anthropologists, and in nearly every area of human expression. By reaffirming our commitment to these disciplines, we will infuse new energy into the creative economy and create a new generation of creative innovators.
We must continue to ensure our students have an outstanding experience at each phase of their educational journey.
