Transgender Day of Remembrance Vigil

Transgender individuals, especially trans women of color, face disproportionately high rates of discrimination, marginalization, and violence. To bring awareness to this ongoing crisis and to honor those who have lost their lives, we invite the Brooklyn College community to join us for Transgender Day of Remembrance Vigil.

The vigil will begin in front of Boylan Hall and then travel across campus where participants will carry a large trans flag in solidarity. We’ll settle around the Community Garden just past the West Quad track to read aloud the names of those we’ve lost, ensuring their lives are not forgotten. The walk will conclude at the LGBTQ+ Resource Center, where refreshments and support will available.
