Info For
As an American studies minor, you will follow an interdisciplinary approach to studying how American literature relates to American music, art, film, history, and religion. You will learn how these subjects reflect and shape our national attitudes and values. You will also explore race, ethnicity, class, and gender to inform your identity within American society.
Declaring a minor allows you to explore other areas of interest and make interdisciplinary connections, and minors complement your major. By declaring a minor, you can set yourself apart as a candidate for job opportunities such as writers, teachers, policy makers, lawyers, arts and museum administrators, editors, and activists.
