Program Overview

As a business administration major pursuing a B.B.A., you can choose to focus on one of the following areas of study: business economics; business for health professions, music professions or music production; business law and real estate; consumer and organizational behavior; critical and ethical thinking; diversity and inclusion in business; e-business; entrepreneurial management; international business; leadership and human resource management; management; or marketing. This program can be completed online or in person.

Where You'll Go

The skills you develop when analyzing and solving complex business problems will help you succeed in a wide range of professional careers in management, human resource management, operations management, business analytics, marketing, and international business. These skills are applicable in small and large companies, as well as nonprofits, and will also prepare you to start your own business.

Major Description

The program offers multiple tracks, including business economics, business for health professions, business for music professions or music production, business law and real estate, consumer and organizational behavior, diversity and inclusion in business, e-business, entrepreneurial management, international business, leadership and human resource management, management, or marketing. In addition to functional business knowledge, it emphasizes communication skills, information literacy, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and ethical reasoning.

Students must complete a minimum of 12 credits in one of the following tracks:

With permission of the deputy chair of the Department of Business Management, the student may substitute an appropriate course to replace one of the above courses for any of the BBA concentrations.

The Business Core requirement of Computer and Information Science 1050 or 1110 or 1115 may be waived by the department for B.B.A. students who can demonstrate sufficiently advanced computer proficiency in spreadsheet analysis.

Writing-Intensive Requirement: Students are required to take at least one writing-intensive course (W course).

Residence Requirement: At least 21 credits of the above courses, including at least one required capstone seminar course, must be completed at Brooklyn College.
