Program Overview
A minor in graphic design provides students with introductory exposure to the concepts, vocabulary, and methods of graphic design, offering a focused skillset to better communicate visually.

Department Requirements (18 Credits)
Prerequisite for entry to the minor: ART 2210 or permission of the Minor Coordinator.
Students will be required to take three graphic design courses (ARTD 3810, ARTD 3097 and ARTD 3811 or ARTD 3812) and at least three electives from the list of relevant courses below.
The courses that students may take as electives for the minor are:

- ARTD 2561 Introduction to Interactive Art
- ARTD 2562 Adv Interactive Art and Generative Design
- ARTD 2811 Introduction to Digital Art
- ARTD 2812 Multimedia and 2D Animation
- ARTD 2820 Digital Video
- ARTD 2821 3D Graphics and Animation
- ARTD 2822 3D Character Design and Animation
- ARTD 3814 Artistic User Interaction/User Experience (UI/UX) Design
- ARTD 4850 Special Topics in Digital Art
Twelve of these credits must be completed at Brooklyn College. The Minor Coordinator, with the approval of the minor’s curriculum committee, may allow substitutions for one or more of these requirements consistent with the educational goals of the minor. Students must complete the minor with a grade of C- or higher in each course.
