As a minor in logic, reason, and rationality, you will come to understand the universe and your place within it, how to determine good versus bad, and what reality really is. At the same time, you’ll improve your reasoning, analytic, and judgment skills, and improve how you develop and defend a position through effective written and oral communication.
Declaring a minor allows you to explore other areas of interest and make interdisciplinary connections, and minors complement your major. By declaring a minor, you can also set yourself apart as a candidate for job opportunities in law, business, finance, management, and technology. Your philosophy minor will teach you to think critically and creatively about complex problems, and to express yourself with confidence and clarity.
The program information listed here reflects the approved curriculum for the 2025–26 academic year per the Brooklyn College Bulletin. Bulletins from past academic years can be found here.
