When you major in business management, you may choose from five minors, including organizational behavior. This program teaches you about the psychology of individual and group behavior within a company. Topics include job satisfaction, work motivation, communications, organizational design, organizational culture, organizational change, leadership, team development, interpersonal and intergroup conflict management, diversity and inclusion, total quality management, and social responsibility/ethics.
Declaring a minor allows you to explore other areas of interest and make interdisciplinary connections, and minors complement your study of business management. By declaring a minor, you can set yourself apart as a candidate for job opportunities in business development, human resources, and a variety of industries. You will provide organizations with the valuable service of improving their methods, processes, and policies so they can be most effective. Positions that use organizational behavior skills include operations, organizational effectiveness managers, business development and consulting, financial analysts, production managers, and human resource professionals.
