Program Overview

As an urban policy minor, you will learn about the environmental challenges impacting urban landscapes. Brooklyn College’s metropolitan setting gives you the opportunity to observe firsthand the issues affecting our cities and devise plans that foster environmental protection, social equity, and economic vitality. You will learn from faculty who are experienced researchers and consultants in the areas of environmental protection, environmental justice, and sustainable development.

Where You'll Go

Declaring a minor allows you to explore other areas of interest and make interdisciplinary connections, and minors complement your major. By declaring a minor, you can set yourself apart as a candidate for job opportunities in green business and management for solar energy recycling, wind power industries, resource management, environmental public policy and advocacy, or city environmental coordination.

Minor Requirements (18 Credits)

Sociology 1101 and five additional courses, two selected from Area 1 and three selected from Area 2:

Each course must be completed with a grade of C or higher.
