Brooklyn College is proud to announce that Carrie Ebbin will serve as the valedictorian for the Class of 2025.

Ebbin majored in business administration with a concentration in marketing and minored in consumer behavior. As a third-generation Brooklyn College student, Ebbin has always felt a natural connection to the institution, which has fueled her commitment to leadership, advocacy, and student engagement on campus.

When she learned about an open seat in the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) senate in her first semester, Ebbin decided to take the risk and run, even though it was a role more commonly assumed by students further along in their college careers. Ebbin won the election, worked hard to learn the ropes, and developed the skills that would make her an integral part of the USG team.

The following year, Ebbin served as vice president and then went on to serve as president as a junior, leading the first all-female slate to win in USG history. During her tenure, Ebbin spearheaded a student involvement initiative, using marketing strategies she learned in her classes, which led to a 400% increase in student election votership.

Additionally, Ebbin represented students across all CUNY campuses as a University Student Senate (USS) delegate and as the CUNY Board of Trustees Audit Committee student representative. She was a key contributor to the “Our CUNY” campaign, promoting diversity and inclusion across the university.

Ebbin was a featured speaker at the 2024 CUNY Women’s Conference, empowering other students to step up, get involved, and make a difference. In recognition of her exemplary contributions to the campus, she was awarded the 2024 Brooklyn College Alumni Association (BCAA) Student Award.

Throughout her college career, Ebbin worked as a part-time social media manager. She interned in Small Group Marketing at Elevance Health in summer 2023 and in Lifecycle Marketing at Talkspace in summer 2024. Her work at Talkspace led to a full-time role as a Lifecycle Marketing Associate, where she continues to help connect people with affordable and accessible mental health care.

Ebbin also just completed her first New York City half marathon. Ebbin leaves Brooklyn College proud of what she helped build, grateful to those who shaped her journey, and eager to keep learning, leading, and making an impact.
