B.F.A. Capstone Thesis Exhibition

May 8 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)

Ahead of its official opening in fall 2024, the new Art Gallery at Brooklyn College is hosting an exhibition featuring student work created as part of the B.F.A. Capstone Thesis course. The exhibition will run through June 6. The gallery is located on the lower level of Boylan Hall.  Gallery hours are Tuesday through Thursday, from 11 a.m.–3 p.m.

The B.F.A. Capstone Thesis is the high point and crowning achievement for student artists in the Department of Art. After advancing past portfolio reviews each year, qualified B.F.A. students are accepted into the studio capstone seminar sequence, a pair of practice-intensive courses taken in the fall and spring semesters before graduation. There, students learn how to develop their ideas and create art based on their individual interests, researching ways to share critical dialogue relating to both personal as well as sociopolitical subject matter.

Exhibiting artists include: Angela Auriti, Cassey Benitez, Jessie Chen, Zuxiu Chen, Kareem Davidson, Cheyann Hepburn, Aleah Leary, Elizabeth Li, Aidan Ling, Faith Mora, Stephanie Palacios, Latifah ShaDae’, Alexa Shmolovsky, Nicolette St. Fleurant, Gabriela Suarez, Filip Times, and Jessica Tolu.
