Teaching Children’s Literature in Spanish: A Libros Solidarios and En Comunidad Celebration of Books

What does it mean to teach in times of censorship and threats to families and children’s existence? Assistant Professor Carla España will share excerpts of her two latest 2026 releases, Libros Solidarios and En comunidad. Author Emma Otheguy will present on her writing that brings together her knowledge of Latin American and New York City history and Latine diasporas. And New York City teachers will discuss the ways they teach in a dual-language Spanish-English classroom. There will be book giveaways and signings.
