Alumni Directory

The Office of Alumni Engagement has launched an exciting alumni data verification project in partnership with Publishing Concepts, Inc. (PCI), and we hope you will participate. PCI is collecting data that will be used to print an alumni directory and update Brooklyn College’s existing records.

Your participation will help strengthen the college’s alumni network and allow us to better serve you and the entire Brooklyn College family.

Frequently Asked Questions

I received an e-mail/postcard/phone call from a company asking for my personal information. They said they were working on a directory for Brooklyn College. Is this a legitimate project, or is it a scam?

Brooklyn College has partnered with Publishing Concepts, Inc. (PCI) to collect alumni contact information and publish a directory. PCI is a nearly 100-year-old research company located in Dallas that publishes directories for many educational institutions, fraternities, sororities, and military organizations across the nation. This project allows the college to receive important updates about alumni to ensure that we have accurate information, and it will help us better serve you and future alumni.

How do I know that my information will be used only for directory purposes?

Brooklyn College has a contractual agreement with PCI that states:

  • The names, addresses, and information provided to PCI by Brooklyn College for the publication of the directory will be held confidential by PCI, except to the extent that they are utilized in, or in the preparation of, the directory and except as required by court order or law.
  • The directory will be made available only to alumni of Brooklyn College. Upon completion of the project, PCI will return to Brooklyn College any and all electronic files that have been supplied to Brooklyn College or produced by PCI in connection with the production of the directory.

How may I verify and update my information?

If you have received a postcard or an e-mail with a telephone number, you may call the number to speak with a dedicated representative for the Brooklyn College project. The representative will verify all the information we have on file for you and make any updates where needed.

If you have received an e-mail with an embedded link, you may go to the online site to review your information.

If you have questions or concerns, you may call PCI’s customer service desk at 800.982.1590.

Can I choose some or all of my information not to be printed in the directory?

Absolutely. When you call to update your information, you can tell the representative exactly what information you would prefer to have excluded. You may also communicate this information to the PCI customer service desk (800.982.1590). If you take no action, only your name and class year will be included in the directory.

If I update my information, am I obligated to purchase a directory?

No. There is no obligation to make a purchase. Regardless, we hope everyone will contact PCI to update information, which will strengthen our alumni network.

Can anyone purchase a directory?

No. The directory is available for sale only to Brooklyn College alumni.

Is the cost of the directory tax deductible and/or considered a donation to Brooklyn College?

No. Purchases through PCI reflect only the cost of the directory. If you would like to donate to the college, you may do so with the Brooklyn College Foundation.

I ordered a directory/package over the phone and would like to cancel my order. How do I do this?

Call the PCI customer service help desk at 800.982.1590, and they will take care of this for you.
