Adult Classes

Private Lessons in All Subjects

Private instruction promotes the growth of skills needed in learning to play an instrument, develop a healthy singing voice, compose music, and dance. The Preparatory Center works with the registrant to make a successful match between student and teacher. Lessons are tailored to meet the needs of total beginners as well as advanced performers. Adult students may begin lessons at any time during the calendar year, subject to teacher availability. Weekly recitals and online performances held throughout the year provide students with the opportunity to work toward goals and increase confidence.

Adults may register for private instruction for the full school year or for 10 lessons at a time. The dates of the lessons need to be decided upon registration.

Group Classes for Adults in All Subjects

The Preparatory Center welcomes adult learners at all levels and periodically offers group classes based on demonstrated interest and enrollment. While there is no standing schedule of adult group classes each semester, new sections may be opened in response to sufficient demand.
Past offerings have included introductory and intermediate classes in piano, guitar and voice. Group instruction provides a collaborative learning environment in which students develop foundational skills, build repertoire, and engage with peers in a supportive setting.
Adult students interested in participating in a group class are encouraged to contact the Preparatory Center to indicate their area of interest. When enrollment thresholds are met, classes are scheduled and announced prior to the start of the semester.
