Required Enrichment Experiences

Active participation in and completion of either summer or winter enrichment experience is required for all SEEK students to ensure continued enrollment at Brooklyn College.

Summer Enrichment Experience

The Summer Enrichment Experience is a four-week summer bridge program held in July to help first–time students prepare for their academic journey at Brooklyn College. During the program, students participate in:

  • Morning assemblies to start the day informed and connected
  • Academic workshops in mathematics and reading/writing
  • College readiness workshops facilitated by SEEK advisers
  • Community-building activities to connect with fellow classmates and SEEK peer mentors

Winter Enrichment Experience

Designed specifically for first–time students beginning college in the spring semester. This experience meets one week per month in November, December, and January to prepare students for their academic journey at Brooklyn College.

 

Required Coursework

INDS 1011: Foundations for College Success and Lifelong Learning

This one-credit course combines interactive lectures and engaging activities to explore the sociocultural, psychological, and educational dimensions of student development and growth. A required course for all first-year SEEK students, INDS 1011 provides essential support to help students build critical academic and professional skills as they navigate their college years.

 

SEEK Learning & Study Center (SLSC)

The SEEK Learning and Study Center (SLSC) encourages an inclusive, supportive environment where students develop the academic habits, critical thinking and confidence needed to thrive at Brooklyn College and beyond. The SLSC prepares students to take ownership of their education, overcome academic hurdles, and be consistent in achieving their long-term goals.
