About the Tow Mentorship Initiative
Tow Mentoring and Research Program
The Tow Mentoring and Research Program affords students, across all disciplines, the chance to jump start their careers as researchers, study the record of publications in their field, balance collaborative and individual work, and determine their area of interest. The program centers on partnerships between faculty mentors and undergraduate mentees who work together on a research topic guided by the faculty member’s research agenda.
Tow Fellowship Program
Also known as Preparing Applications for Prestigious Awards and Scholarships (PAPAS), this program offers two workshops a year to advise students on preparing applications for ambitious programs, including the Rhodes, Marshall, and Fulbright scholarships.
Tow Senior Faculty Mentors
Dedicated senior faculty mentors in each of Brooklyn College’s five schools help train our faculty to support students. Selected for their record of excellence in mentorship, mentors advise other faculty on teaching and achieving excellence in their own scholarly research. This program includes the annual $10,000 Tow Mentorship Prize.
