After winning their fourth straight CUNYAC title on February 23, the Brooklyn College women’s basketball team will travel to Lewiston, Maine, to face host Bates College in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs defeated No. 2 John Jay College in the CUNYAC Championship, 72-54, at Baruch College. Meeting the Bloodhounds in the third consecutive conference tournament final, the top-seeded Bulldogs outscored John Jay ,27-12, in the second quarter for the cushion they needed for the championship victory.

It’s the Bulldog’s fifth conference title in the last six seasons and the first under rookie head coach Megan Campbell. The Bulldogs enter the NCAA Tournament with an 18-8 overall record and are looking for their first NCAA Tournament win since beating Emmanuel College during the 2021-22 season.

Bates College made its appearance in the NESCAC women’s basketball championship tournament title game for the second time in three years after taking the crown in 2021-22. Bates had to settle for runner-up this time, as top-seed Bowdoin College upended the Bobcats, 66-56, on February 25 to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
