2nd Annual CUNY-Wide Vogue Ball: Tailoring Black Style
The Brooklyn College LGBTA and the LGBTQ+ Resource Center will be hosting our 2nd Annual CUNY-Wide Vogue Ball. This year’s theme will be “Dandyism: Tailoring Black Style,” inspired by the 2025 Met Gala and exhibit titled “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
The Vogue Ball, 5–8 p.m., will feature several categories for participants to dip, twirl, spin, and show off your best face. Judges will determine who will take home the prizes! Food will be served. Beginner-friendly categories include Face, Runway, Performance, Realness, and Fashion.
Prior to the ball, from 3 to 5 p.m., there will be a resource fair with internal partners and external organizations. Come learn about different services provided by Brooklyn College and community organizations.
The “ballroom scene” is a vibrant subculture within the LGBTQ+ community, born in the underground New York City scene. Historically, these spaces served as safe havens for LGBTQ+ people of color. Through extravagant performances and fashion, LGBTQ+ people challenged societal norms on gender and sexuality through fashion and gender expression.
The ball is for CUNY students, staff, and faculty only, and a reservation is required, as space is limited. RSVP does not guarantee entry after 6:30 p.m.
