Professor of Computer and Information Science Devorah Kletenik is the principal investigator of a $696,796 National Science Foundation (NSF) grant supporting a three-year project titled “Collaborative Research: Innovative Materials for Promoting Accessibility Curriculum and Teaching (IMPACT).”

The collaborative initiative, conducted with Associate Professor Rachel F. Adler of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, aims to identify challenges in teaching and learning about digital accessibility; enhance and evaluate educational resources, including games and interactive assignments; and build a supportive community of practice for instructors.
The IMPACT project seeks to strengthen accessibility education in computing and help prepare students to create more inclusive digital technologies.
