Courses presented for the major in Computer and Information Science may also be used to satisfy the minor in Data Science. A minor in CIS requires completing 12 credits from among courses numbered between 2000 and 4899 with a grade C or better. Students with GPA above 3.0 may choose from Computer and Information Science courses numbered 7000 and above. Students with GPA above 3.0 and completed 90 credits may choose CISC 7700X or 7702X in lieu of CISC 3225; CISC 7412X or CISC 7440X or CISC 7704X in lieu of CISC 3440.

Accelerated Master’s

Four courses (12 credits) of CISC 7412X, 7440X, 7702X, 7700X, may be taken as part of the Mminor in Data Science, and can count for both the student’s undergraduate degree and the subsequent M.S. in Computer Science degree at Brooklyn College.

To qualify for accelerated track, students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher based on a minimum of 60 credits in computer and information science courses may apply for consideration. Students must maintain a GPA above 3.0 to remain eligible for continued registration of graduate courses.
