Student Center

The Brooklyn College Student Center, located on East 27 Street and Campus Road, is home to the Undergraduate Student Government and Graduate Student Organization student presidents and the Greek Council. It also contains a study room, computer room, quiet reflection room, lactation room, and game room.

The State Room

Conference Center

The Brooklyn College Conference Center, occupying the top two floors of the Student Center, is a meeting complex open to students, staff, faculty, and residents of the borough. It offers flexible meeting spaces that can accommodate meetings, workshops, receptions, lectures, seminars, conferences, and more. Before reserving rooms for events, review the special room rates (PDF) for departments and staff.

Entrance/Security Policy

Metal detection may be used at the discretion of Brooklyn College Office of Public Safety. The Student Center will determine staffing levels and gate of entry as needed based on the amount of events scheduled.

Brooklyn College Students, Staff, and Faculty

All students, staff, and faculty are required to present a valid Brooklyn College ID upon entering the Student Center.

ALl Other Guests

Anyone who is not a Brooklyn College student, staff, or faculty member must be on a guest list to gain entry to the Student Center.

Guests at the college must adhere to the following procedures to gain entry into the Student Center:

  • Must be on the guest list.
  • Enter at the East Gate located on Campus Road and Amersfort Place.
  • Present a valid picture ID. Acceptable ID is a government-issued photo ID. Other forms of picture ID may be acceptable as determined by the administration of the Student Center or Office of Public Safety. A screenshot or photo of an ID is not acceptable.

Guest List: A list of invited guests/non-Brooklyn College attendees must be submitted by the host no later than three business days prior to the event date to the SEMT email, if not already listed on the Event Request Form. All guests must sign in and present a valid state or government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, nondriver ID). Note: Guests who are excluded from entering the campus will not be allowed to attend the event even if included on the guest list.

 

Minors

  • All minors (under 18) are not allowed within the Student Center without parental/guardian supervision. Minors must remain with parental/guardian supervision at all times.
  • Related college departments/entities such as BCA, STAR, and College Now students are under the age of 18 and are not allowed in the Student Center without authorized staff from respective organization(s).
