Knowing another language is one of the most valuable skills you will ever possess, and learning it at Brooklyn College—located in one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse areas in the world—will be one of the wisest decisions you ever make. You can major in French or Spanish; pick up a minor in either of those languages or Chinese, German, Italian, or Russian; or become proficient in Arabic, Haitian Creole, Japanese, Korean, or Portuguese. With fluency in another language—and the cultural connections that are inextricably linked to it—you will not only travel the world with more confidence, but you’ll also become a very desirable candidate for careers in almost any position imaginable, from education to law, international relations to business, and government to the arts, to name just a few.
