Ways to Recruit Our Students

The Magner Career Center looks forward to partnering with you as you explore, engage, and recruit the best talent at Brooklyn College from interns to full-time hires and everything in between.

We work with more than 2,500 employers locally, nationally, and internationally to fill their internship and employment needs. Below is a summary of services and resources we offer to benefit and support your recruiting efforts.

Brooklyn College Career Partners Program

To get the most visibility and reach all Brooklyn College students, employers get the best value by becoming a Brooklyn College Career Partner. As a partner, you are giving back and investing in students who will benefit from additional career support. Your sponsorship of our career development programs directly prepares students to become excellent candidates for professional positions in your company and supports them in reaching transformative career outcomes.

Job Opportunities

There are two ways for employers to promote job opportunities to Brooklyn College students and alumni.

  • Option 1 (fastest option): Post your jobs on BC Handshake (opens in August).
  • Option 2 (slower option): Send your job posting to us via e-mail. If you do not have an outlined job description, feel free to use the following template (DOCX).

Job Fairs

Employers can join the semi-annual Career Fair, hosted every March and October which is open to all students and alumni of all majors. This is a prime time to teach prospective employees about your company and to network with other organizations.

Interviews

The Magner Career Center arranges on-campus and virtual interviews for employers looking to connect with our students. The fee is $100. Interviews requires advance scheduling and preparation. E-mail us for further information.

Informational Sessions

Employers can host an informational session to discuss their organization and opportunities. This is a great way to meet directly with students and answer any questions. Informational sessions take place:

  • Mondays and Wednesdays, virtually, anytime between 4 and 5:30 p.m.
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, in person, anytime between 12:30 and 2 p.m. (Virtual and hybrid available)
  • Fridays, virtually, anytime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

To host an in-person/virtual information session, there is a $125 fee for nonprofits/government and a $175 fee for corporations.

For more information, e-mail us.

Tabling Events

Tabling is a great way to increase visibility, develop brand recognition, and raise awareness about opportunities with your organization. We help drive traffic to your table by promoting your presence on campus prior to your tabling date. Tabling takes place Tuesdays or Thursdays, 11:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., but we can accommodate any time from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on selected dates. There is a $75 fee to table on campus for nonprofits/government and small businesses, and $125 for large companies.

For more information, e-mail us.

Company Visit Program

Each year the Magner Career Center arranges a number of company visit programs. These company visits are designed to take a small and select group of students to an employer’s place of business for a tour of the facilities, to attend a presentation on career opportunities available, and to network with employees of the organization. Visits are typically held in April or June. For more information, e-mail us.
