Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship

The Department of Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship, through its committed academic faculty, industry experts, and dedicated staff, provides students with the knowledge and skills in business management necessary to succeed in a wide range of professional careers in management, human resource management, operations management, business analytics, marketing, and international business in small and large companies as well as in non-for-profit organizations.

Undergraduate students may pursue either a Bachelor of Science in business management or a Bachelor of Business Administration within Brooklyn College’s tradition of academic excellence in the liberal arts and sciences. The B.S. degree is general and allows students to choose a double major, such as business and accounting, or to select a minor in business law, corporate social responsibility, marketing, organizational behavior, and small business management and urban entrepreneurship. The B.B.A. offers nine concentrations: business economics, business for health professions, business law and real estate, consumer and organizational behavior, e-business, international business, leadership and human resource management, management, or marketing. The B.B.A. with a concentration in business for health professions is a unique program targeted to physicians, dentists, therapists, and those planning to pursue graduate degrees in the health professions.

InterDisciplinary Studies

The department has pioneered several multidisciplinary programs with other departments within the college. Business students may pursue a program in earth and environmental sciences, film, philosophy, or Puerto Rican and Latino studies. Modern language majors in French, Italian, Russian, and Spanish may take a joint program in language and business. In conjunction with the Department of Computer and Information Science, the Department of Business Management also offers a Bachelor of Science in information systems. The department works closely with the Brooklyn College Magner Career Center to provide students with internships, identify job opportunities, and prepare students for their job search.
