The CUNY Accelerated Study in Academic Programs (ASAP) is a comprehensive support program that helps students complete their bachelor’s degrees by providing financial, academic, and personal support. Students receive personalized academic advisement, career development, assistance with textbooks and transportation, and more. Our team takes a holistic approach to advisement, building strong relationships with students to help them define and achieve their academic, personal, and career goals.

As an ASAP student, you will receive a variety of supports to help you succeed:

Who's Eligible

  • Be a full-time student at Brooklyn College
  • Be a New York State resident and/or eligible for in-state tuition
  • Complete the FAFSA and the New York State TAP application
  • Students who do not receive financial aid, or who are unable to file, may still join ASAP; however, they will not be eligible to receive the tuition gap scholarship. We encourage these students to contact the program team to learn more about next steps and available resources.
  • Commit to the following graduation timeline(s):
    • Freshmen and continuing/transfer students with fewer than 21 credits: Graduate within eight semesters
    • Associate-degree transfer students with 90 credits or less: Graduate within four semesters

Note: Students cannot participate in ASAP if they are enrolled in Macaulay Honors or SEEK

Program Requirements

ASAP students must:

  • Maintain full-time enrollment each semester
  • Earn at least 30 credits each academic year (may include summer or winter courses if needed)
  • Meet regularly with your ASAP academic advisor and participate in required program activities
  • Take part in career development and co-curricular learning opportunities each term
  • Commit to graduating within the timeline outlined in your degree map (eight semesters for freshmen/continuing students; four semesters for associate-degree transfer students)
  • Re-apply for financial aid each year (FAFSA and TAP) and accept any federal and state grant aid (Pell, SEOG, TAP, NYS Dream Act) awarded

To participate in Brooklyn College’s ASAP Program, students must commit to one of the following ASAP-approved majors.
